BCL activist Mona murder: 9 arrested with arms in Pabna

Police arrested nine people in connection with the sensational murder of Chhatra League activist Tafsir Ahmed Mona, 24, in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna.
Three firearms and a huge cache of equipment used to make arms have been recovered from their possession.

Pabna Superintendent of Police Md Akbar Ali Munshi revealed the information at a press conference at his office on Monday morning.

The arrestees are Manik Hossain, 36, son of Yunus Ali; Rajib Pramanik, 30, son of Aziz Pramanik; Fosiul Alam Anik, 27, son of Muhidul Haque; Chamon Rahman, 38, son of Atiar Rahman; Shahin Sardar, 28, son of Aktar Sardar; Ariful Islam, 32, son of Johurul Islam; Amjad Hossain Abuj, 37, son of Shahjahan Ali; Monirul Islam, 34 and Mahfujur Rahman Kala, 35.

To mention, on June 17, a group of three unidentified criminals attacked Mona when he was at his office in Lokhmikunda market area around 10:00pm. The attackers shot him and he died on the spot.

Following the incident, Nahida Akter Lipi, mother of the deceased, filed a murder case on June 19 alleging 17 Chhatra League leaders and other 4-5 unidentified persons.Mona was a resident of Rooppur Pakar Mor and a student of Ishwardi Government College.
