Major Mohammad Javed Hasan (Retd) suffered a massive heart attack on October 20th, Friday at 12:30 PM at his residence in Pallabi, Dhaka and was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in critical condition. He breathed his last there. He was 55 years old at the time of his death.

His funeral prayer was held at the Central Jame Mosque in Dhaka Cantonment after the Zuhar prayers on October 22nd. He was laid to rest with full military honours at the Banani Army Graveyard.

He is survived by his wife, only daughter, only son, and numerous friends, well-wishers and relatives.

Major (Retd) Mohammad Javed Hasan was born into a respected Muslim family in Dhaka on October 31, 1968. After completing his primary education, he pursued his secondary and higher secondary education at Rajshahi Cadet College, Sarda with distinction and then joined the Bangladesh Army. He received his commission on December 23, 1988 from the 19th BMA Long Course. Later, he joined 12th East Bengal Regiment.

He retired from the military on April 1, 2012. After retiring for a prolonged period of 11 years, he worked as the General Manager (Admin and HR) at Desh Energy Limited.Major (Retd) Mohammad Javed Hasan was the younger brother of Mr. Shameem Hassan, Director (Public Relations) of the Bangladesh Power Development Board.
