Hired culprits are committing arson attacks: DB Chief

Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Chief Additional Police Commissioner Harun-Ur-Rashid has said those people who declare blockades and strikes they are not in the field but they are hiring some culprits for arson attacks as well as cocktail-bomb charging. "Our detective police are trying to find out the perpetrators behind the sabotage and bring them to book", he added. Harun-Ur-Rashid made the remarks at the Minto Road DB office on Monday while briefing journalists. He further said many buses and cars are running on the roads by ignoring blockades and traffic tailback is being seen on different streets. "At that time hired terrorists are trying to set fire on vehicles but we are sitting idle and we are nabbing them", Harun added.
Moreover, those arrested have confessed that they are doing it for money

and their bosses are paying them money. "In the meantime we have arrested so called big brothers and got involved behind the matter through the deposition of Section 164", the DB chief added.

"Already we have got the names and numbers of the godfathers behind the motives and we will not spare anyone," DIG Harun Ur Rashid further said.
Replying to a query Harun Ur Rashid said "After schedule declaration law enforcers and Detective Police are following the order of EC and I think that those would barricade the election or try to violate the law and order must be brought to book as well as stringent measures to be taken".
