Adam Tamizi Haque arrested

 
The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested controversial businessman Adam Tamizi Haque from his residence in the capital's Gulshan area on Saturday evening.

Adam Tamizi Haque returned to Bangladesh 15 November 2023. He was interrogated for a couple of hours inside the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by law and order forces. Later on he was dropped at his residence with security protocol. Giving such undue privileges to Adam Tamizi Haque disappointed and outraged patriotic platforms at that time.

 Adam Tamizi Haque hit news headlines a few months ago by burning his Bangladeshi passport on Facebook live and saying that he relinquished Bangladeshi citizenship. He even maligned the Prime Minister, some ministers and state ministers through his Facebook status updates. Burning one's passport humiliates the concerned country though Adam Tamizi Haque faced no legal action at that time for this occurrence which astonished, shocked and angered Awami League (AL) leaders and activists.

 Adam Tamizi Haque's return to Bangladesh just ahead of the country's 12th parliamentary election sparked mysteries and suspicion. It was

being speculated whether Adam Tamizi Haque had any ulterior motive behind coming back to Bangladesh. Questions came up whether he wanted to embarrass ruling party Awami League right before the upcoming election.
