We have to work jointly to fulfill our national targets: Tajul

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Tajul Islam has said, "We have to work jointly to fulfill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's mission and vision."

He said this at the Dhaka WASA Bhaban on Sunday at a reception program by the Dhaka WASA's officials. The minister further said now Bangladesh is not a state of beggar or poverty oriented but the country has established its position to the world led by Premier Sheikh Hasina. "As a minister of second consecutive time I would firmly tell you that accountability and transparency to be ensured of all departments under the LGRD Ministry".

Tajul added and mentioned again that every department's ability will be increased
through sorting out problems.

He expressed his satisfaction over the skills of Dhaka WASA and said once upon a time Dhaka dwellers were demonstrated with pitcher and hue and cry for water but now that type of scenario is absolutely absent due to smooth water supply is continued by Dhaka WASA.

On the other hand, different type of projects is going on by Dhaka WASA to update the sewerage extraction, Tajul however added.

Moreover minister heavily came on water supply for richest peoples and said. "Cost of one liter water production by Dhaka WASA is tk.26 to 30 but if I sell it by tk.15 then who will give rest of tk.15 as a subsidy? So I think that richest areas price of water and middle income and lower graded income areas water price should not be same."

The program was presided over by the Dhaka WASA MD. Engineer Taksim A Khan. Local Government Division Secretary Muhammad Ibrahim was also addressing as a special guest. Dhaka WASA Chairman Professor Dr. Sujith Kumar Bala among others was present at that time.
