Allegations of irregularities in PUST tender

 
Irregularities have been alleged in the tender of about Tk 21.40 crore for the purchase of scientific equipment of the laboratory under the development project of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST). 

A contractor named M/s NS Enterprise has given a written letter to the project director mentioning the irregularity. According to related sources, two companies named Global Technology and N.S Enterprise participated in the tender process.

The technical sub-committee reviewed the technical specifications of the scientific equipment mentioned in the tender and found N.S Enterprise to be more compatible. Later they send it to the evaluation committee for evaluation.

Meanwhile, although it lags behind in terms of technical specifications, the evaluation committee prefers Global Technology.
Sources also said that, Global Technology failed to fulfill conditions 3, 7 and 8 of the conditions mentioned in the advertisement. Besides, it is also known that, there is no catalog of products submitted by Global Technology.

Prof Dr Dilip Kumar Sarkar, the president of the technical sub-committee of the project is said that, the sub-committee meeting has no scope to decide which organization will be given the work.  We have just found compatibility inconsistencies in the products of the two companies. Later we sent them to the evaluation committee.

Project Director GM Azizur Rahman said, "Everything has been done according to the rules. We have prioritized the lowest bidder as per the law. There is no basis in the complaint."
