Workshop on AIDs held in Dinajpur
 
An awareness building workshop on AIDS was held at the conference room of Dinajpur Civil Surgeon Office on Monday.

Civil Surgeon Office organized the workshop with Civil Surgeon Dr AHM Burhan-ul-Islam in the chair while DGHS AIDs/STD Program (ASP) Deputy Manager Dr Faiza Mukar Rana addressed the workshop as the chief guest.

Speaking the occasion, she said, "A total of 57 patients have been found HIV positive in Dinajpur district from 1989 to 2023. Religious discipline and awareness should be increased among themselves. Therefore, all sectors have an important role socially in this regard."

Speakers in the workshop stressed to create awareness among the vulnerable people like transgender, sex workers and transport workers about HIV AIDS.

They also stressed on regular health checkup to the vulnerable people to control the spreading of HIV.

Conducted by Dr Abdullah Al Mahmud, Dinajpur Sadar Hospital Supervisor Dr Md Fazlur Rahman, Senior Medicine Consultant Dr Wahedul Haque, RMO Dr Md Parvez Sohel Rana, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Shah Mohammad Sharif, NDC Mamun Sarker, Civil Surgeon Office Medical Officer Dr Kawsar Ahmed and Senior Health Education Officer Md Saiful Islam addressed the workshop.
