Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has appointed three new officials in the post of commissioners. These three newly appointed Commissioners are Professor Dr. Sheikh Shamsuddin Ahmed, former Secretary to Ministry of Public Administration Mohammad Mohsin Chowdhury and Managing Director of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC Dr. ATM Tariquzzaman. An order from the Honorable President regarding the appointments of the above officials was issued in the form of a gazette notification on 8 May 2024 (Wednesday) which was signed by Md. Jahid Hossain, Joint Secretary of Financial Institutions Division.
The gazette notification states that Professor Dr. Sheikh Shamsuddin Ahmed will be holding the post of BSEC Commissioner from 20 May
2024 for a tenure of four years. Former Secretary Mohammad Mohsin Chowdhury will be holding the BSEC Commissioner post from 2 June 2024 for a term of four years. On the other hand, Managing Director of Dhaka Stock Exchange Dr. ATM Tariquzzaman will remain in the post of BSEC Commissioner from 20 May 2024 for a period of four years.
