In celebration of Philippine National Heritage Month, the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh, in collaboration with the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), the Film Development Council of the Philippines, and the National Commission of Culture and the Arts, hosted a film event featuring "K'na the Dreamweaver" and "Patintero: Ang Alamat ni Meng Patalo."
The event commenced at 10 AM on the university premises, graced by the presence of His Excellency Leo Tito L. Ausan, Jr., the Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh. Also in attendance were ULAB's esteemed Vice Chancellor, Prof. Imran Rahman, and Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jude William Genilo, Madam Agnes B. Ausan, Philippine Embassy personnel, and members of the Filipino community, students, and faculties.
ULAB's Vice Chancellor, Professor Imran Rahman, inaugurated the event. The program included a ceremonial handover of the poetry book "Sleepless in Dhaka and Other Poems," authored by the Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh, His Excellency Leo Tito L. Ausan, Jr. The book was handed over to the Vice-Chancellor and the Pro Vice-Chancellor, to be donated to ULAB’s Library.
Moreover, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Maria Tanya B. Gaurano also provided insights into the significance of the Philippine National Heritage Month, celebrated every May.
Philippine Embassy’s Administrative Officer, Arthur L. Blas concluded with closing remarks, and the Third Secretary and Vice Consul, Lynn R. Gutierrez moderated the event.
