Outgoing Army Chief meets President

Outgoing Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed paid a farewell call on President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban on Saturday.
During the meeting, the Army Chief thanked the President for his cooperation while performing his duties. At this time, the outgoing army chief briefed the President about the overall activities of the army, especially the development activities.

President Shahabuddin lauded the role of the outgoing Chief of Army Staff and thanked him for his successful discharge, according to a press release. He said that the armed forces formed through the liberation war are our pride.

The President expressed hope that this trend of development of the army will continue in the future and the government will provide full cooperation in this regard. The secretaries of the President's office were present at this time.
