AL will destroy country's independence: Fakhrul

 
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that ruling party Awami League will destroy the country's independence if they are allowed to continue governing Bangladesh.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the above remark on Tuesday at BNP central office in the capital's Naya Paltan at a program in which a milad mahfil and monajat were held praying for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the present government has plundered all banks and financial institutions of Bangladesh. Some banks have become bankrupt and corruption by higher officials is getting exposed every now and then, he further said.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir blamed the government for destroying the country's economy and for politicizing civil administration. He called upon all BNP leaders and activists to work in a united manner to oust the government and to get Begum Khaleda Zia released.

The meeting was also attended by BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas, BNP Chairperson's adviser Abdus Salam, Shahid Uddin
Chowdhury Anny, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Jubo Dol President Abdul Monayem Munna among others.
