Students of Rajshahi University (RU) have protested against brutal attacks on students across the country, including Dhaka University (DU), Jahangirnagar University (JU), and Chittagong University (CU).
They started the protest march from the Binodpur gate of the university on Tuesday afternoon.
Then they broke the lock of the main gate of the university and entered inside. Walking up from Paris Road to the old Sheikh Russell School grounds, about 1,000 female students joined them. Then they reached the Dr Kudrat-E-Khuda Academic Building, and nearly two thousand students joined them from the hall.
Later, they came to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall with a huge procession and broke the lock of the hall gate, which was closed by the Chhatra League, and the students of Bangabandhu Hall joined the movement.
Meanwhile, they started shouting slogans in favor of quota reform and against the attackers. Chhatra League activists are seen running away after seeing the huge procession of ordinary students.
At that time, a protesting student said, "The bitch Chhatra League has shed the blood of my brothers across the country, including DU, JU, and CU. Today, let's see how many chests they have. This country belongs to meritorious, not quota holders. Despite the independence of the country in 1971, intellectuals are still subjugated. So, we will free the country again."
