An Evaluation of Narendra Modi from Multiple Angles

An Evaluation of Narendra Modi from Multiple Angles

Narendra Modi in his third tenure as Prime Minister of this vast global democracy has attained widespread adulations and encomiums from all global leaders in different Sub-Continents. Rising from a humble background Modiji is on the pinnacle of glory and success all around India and around the global circles. His pattern of governance might be an exemplary phenomenon but in real sense of the term he nowadays lacks his charismatic approach towards proper and sound governance. During the first two terms of his regime Modi was in his swashbuckling phases.

Why did I utter the last named aphorisms in the last part of the above paragraph? To accept the real truth it is felt by many that we should accept his dynamism and ways to gain the acceptance from the citizens of his nation as well as from closer and cordial nation Peoples Republic of Bangladesh.

During the said year when Modi was appointed Prime Minister of India. It was known about his credibility to deliver goods to the citizens of India. Before I delve into details pertaining to my column. My focusing area will be such, what are the expectations of vast number of citizens of India. That how Modi is expected to deliver goods for the development of this vast nation, how the economy is expected to stem out from the woods and what are the basic amenities likely to be deliver towards the need of common citizens.

Now let me touch upon the basic issues to be taken up by Narendra Modi as third time Prime Minister of India. There are quite a good number of citizens who seemed to be deeply aggrieved upon Narendra Modi as Prime Minister in his last two regimes. In the just concluded Indian parliamentary elections I find the performance of BJP and NDA Alliance has been very shocking. In the key belts of Northern part of the nation the current forces literally recovered from probable collapse. After the declaration of the verdict it was glaringly noticeable that Modi and his team faced with a grim reality to ascend to the coveted throne in New Delhi. However new Modi regime was lucky to have the support of TDP and JDU. But it was not so easy to get the support, provided the Prime Minister agrees to the demand of the allies.

Among the allies INDIA conglomerates played pivotal roles to generate energy among the opposition forces of India. It was no doubt a grim signal for BJP and NDA Allies. The expectation of the vast number of Indians was development from macro perspectives. The economic development remained the key issue, being well supported by political and social peace. The oath taking ceremony was a massive one. Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sri Lankan President, Nepal President, Prime Minister of Bhutan and finally President ofMaldives were present on this august gathering. Apart from the above dignitaries there was the presence of celebrities of New Delhi and also from other parts of the nation. Now arriving at the issue of evaluating Narendra Modi from multiple ways. It needs to be delved upon deeply on this pertinent issue.

First two regimes of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India was truly full of adulations. He in fact ascended this prized throne of Prime Minister of India on 2014. The current one is his third regime. But the current regime needs to be introspected more deeply. Prior to the just concluded election, the way he was deeply instrumental in inauguration of notable religious shrines and ornamentation of notable temples was not at all acceptable by the common citizens of India. As the entire world is on the verge of progress and development. Then how could Modi decided to focus upon upliftment of religious shrines? Though the common citizens of India was eager to note economic development. Which did not happen at all during the last two regimes of Modi.

In this regard, I wish to highlight the examples of Indian state of West Bengal. Here the economic, social, political and academic ambience is in total shambles and debilitation. That is why West Bengal is retracing at the backyard. This has created deep impact on Narendra Modi’s performance during his last two regimes.

Now let me touch upon various ways about evaluation on Narendra Modi from various ways. Among all the ways and means, some of the common ones are stated as such, Modi and his team members managed post Covid-19 scenarios meticulously, introduction of Goods and Service Tax, emphasising upon recover of NPA’s, development of various kinds of health insurance schemes, introduction of proper sanitation programs, introduction of digital systems in every sphere of life, introducing LPG connections in rural and urban areas at low cost and finally proper security of the citizens. Though LPG prices have come down, but there is dubiousness in my mind that how long will the current price remain? Now in order to contain the allies like JDU and TDP in its fold, prices of petroleum products will be kept at its minimum level with the objective to contain vote bank of the allies.

If I undertake proper summation of the above issues. That clearly indicates it was not catered to all sections of Indian societies. Only richer sections are accorded maximum benefits, rest accorded some, but not as per desired expectations.

I am now trying to make sensitive comments. Hope my revered online readers will not comprehend my views in its pejorative sense. Truth needs to be highlighted, which cannot be denied from the framework of our consciousness. Modi in his last two regimes had to manage various types of groups all over this vast nation. They kept on demanding on multifarious issues. Which he was forced to cater to their demands. Prior to the just concluded Indian parliamentary elections, it was traced. That there was some brittleness among some allies of BJP. The allies are mostly based in Northern parts of India. When results of 18th parliamentary elections were declared on June 4, a pall of gloom descended within BJP. Modi literally escaped in the key bastion Uttar Pradesh. Among the key allies, RSS suddenly developed anti feelings about Modi and BJP.

From reverse angle, Bharat Jodo Yatra, has motivated the voters of UP and allied areas to vote back INDIA back to power.

There is a feeling generated most of the Indian citizens. That Modi might quit at any moments. In this regard, I feel that if Nitish Kumar along with N.Chandrababu Naidu withdraw their support from Modi’s BJP, then the plight of Modi government will be in total jeopardy. That is why I am keenly observing that Modi is in a tight corner. Along with Modi, all his ministerial colleagues must pull up the socks. Otherwise if his ‘chair’ (which in Hindi is narrated as ‘Kursi’), tilts on any side then there will be great difficulty in saving third time elected BJP and NDA Allies government. However it is the citizens of this vast nation India, who are quite capable to evaluate Narendra Modi from close quarters. Another issue which was upsetting for Modi in his second regime. He seems to be religious centric.

As India has achieved wide ranging encomiums, Modi should have emphasised upon economic development. Instead he took over the issue of Ayoddha and Ram Mandir issue broadly. This created annoyance among vast numbers of voters who are mostly from Hindi speaking belt. There are some Hindi speaking leaders who used to abuse Rahul Gandhi badly. This was not taken positively by most of the voters adjoining NCR, UP and also Noida and Ghaziabad regions.

Apart from the above communal feelings of Modi badly sparked off anger among all Hindi speaking voters. Notable losers among BJP leaders, Smriti Irani, Locket Chatterjee (from West Bengal), etc various others. At the time of swearing in ceremony of the new ministry in India. Modi was under severe strain and stress. However everything became fully settled. Even after couple of days Modi government somehow or rather managed to scrape through the vote of confidence. Last named was extremely crucial. After the swearing in ceremony, Modi visited Italy to attend G-7 Summit.

Now situations are well in command due to the pattern of governance. Positive signs have  been noticed by the citizens of India, close neighbours and nations based in other continents of the globe. What is the positive sign noticeable now? In the international arenas, Modi is known to self as a dynamic diplomat. He should consider himself lucky to have two great hands, such Dr S.Jayshankar, Dr H.V.Shringla and Mr Ajit Doval.

After ten long years, I find that opposition forces are gaining firm ground. It is nothing but ‘INDIA’ conglomerates. Among the members of the conglomerates Indian National Congress under the dynamic leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and others are sincerely trying their level best to steer this vast nation to glory and pride. This is badly needed in a modern democratic setup. Unless and until opposition participates in various parliamentary deliberations, then how will our governance get carried upon for India’s growth?

Hence it cannot be denied that during the coming five years all members of Modi government must pull up socks. Also the allies should play proactive roles. Finance Budget along with Railway Budget has been presented on the tables of our parliament. It has been accepted, but still I would reiterate there should not any sort of super complacency on the part of BJP and NDA Allies. Despite the foundation lies on a solid block but it might tilt anytime any moment. Expectations of the citizens needs to be met up sincerely. Among the expectations, price controls and sound governance should be given to priorities. Current regime should feel for the citizens, otherwise they might receive marching orders any moment prior to the end of the tenure. About the presentation of finance and railway budget, detailed analysis will be done by me separately.
