BAU celebrates 64th founding anniversary

BAU Correspondent: Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), the mother of all agricultural universities, on Sunday celebrates its 64th founding anniversary.

Today's events started with a joyful rally that passed through Amtala, next to the university library building, and ended in front of the Liberation War Memorial. Later, the national anthem was sung and the national flag and university flag were hoisted in front of the Liberation War monument at 11 am.

During the rally, Dean Council Convener Prof. Dr. Khandaker Md. Mustafizur Rahman, the president of the teacher's association Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Islam Sarder, General Secretary Prof. Dr. Asaduzzaman Sarker, teachers, and students of different faculties and students of the KB School were present.

Later, Fish fry was released in the Brahmaputra River adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor's residence.

Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Islam stated ''the role of BAU graduates in building a food-self-sufficient country is undeniable. The achievements must be maintained in the coming days.''

"We want to keep the university free from dirty politics," he said.
