With a view to commemorating the martyrs one month after the fall of Hasina regime, the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement will hold a nationwide 'Shaheedi March' today.
Sarjis Alam, a coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, made the announcement at a press conference held at the TSC auditorium of Dhaka University on Wednesday.
The central march will begin at 3pm from the base of the Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University. The event aims to mobilize students and the public across the country in a show of solidarity and remembrance.
Sarjis Alam said, "We think it is time to remember those who lost their lives for the cause. That's why, a month after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, we'll commemorate the occasion with a martyrdom march across the nation." He called on students to actively participate in the march to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the movement.
Meanwhile, the student leaders also warned that anyone involved in controversial activities, including extortion, torture, or misbehaviour, will be dealt with by law enforcement agencies.
