JCD forms cells to preserve evidence of BCL's torture

Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Chatra Dal has formed two separate cells to collect and preserve the evidences of torture on the students of Dhaka University carried out by the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in the last 15 years.

'To preserve the true history, 'Evidence Collection Cell' will be working on collecting and preserving the evidences of torture while 'Legal Aid Cell' will aid the victims to get justice, said a JCD press release on Wednesday.

To prolong the Awami authoritarian regime, BCL leaders and activists brutally tortured the general students along with leaders and activists of JCD and other opposition parties, violating the law and human rights, said the release.

Besides, the Awami regime shut all the doors including politicizing the judiciary to get justice for such heinous incidents carried out by the ruling party leaders and activists, it added.

After 2009, BCL formed torture cells in each hall of Dhaka University where all arrangements were standby to take away students' right to raise voice violating the human rights, said JCD Dhaka University unit general secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon.
