Popular film maker Raihan Rafi has announced plans to make a film about the July Revolution.
He revealed it during a discussion on "The Recent Trends and Future of Bangladeshi Cinema" held at the Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Hall in Rajshahi University on Saturday.
Rafi said: "There are so many stories from the July coup that needs to be turned into films. I will do my best to make this happen quickly."
He said: "Whether it's about Mugdho or the entire event, I enjoy telling true stories. There are so many twists and plots—why shouldn't I make a film? Cinema is an art form through which one can protest and highlight societal issues.”
“This movement will be forgotten over time, but if it remains in films, it will stay in people's minds," he added.
Rafi's latest film, "Toofan," has been a mega hit.
Starring Shakib Khan, Nabila, Mimi, and Chanchal Chowdhury, the film has gained popularity in Bangladesh and 15 other countries worldwide.
