HPV vaccine does not create infertility: DG Health

Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr. Md. Abu Jafor has said that there is no relation between infertility and HPV vaccine and also there is no negative correlation between religious practices and vaccination activities. He made the remarks while addressing a press briefing on ongoing HPV vaccination campaign-2024 program at the DG Health conference room on Wednesday.

The DG Health said, "We have to come forward consciously from our respective positions against such rumors and propaganda."

Small scale negative reaction may be created in human body after taking any vaccine and it's a normal matter and if the patient take rest for sometimes  would feel better, he further said.

Some 18 lakh 17 thousands and 326 women have already come under the HPV vaccination program at the initiative of  DG Health till 29 October 2024 and our vaccination target is 62 lakh 12 thousands 532, DG added.
