National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Wednesday asked the Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection (DNCRP) to conduct drive against fake cosmetic dealers. A NHRC press release on Wednesday said the commission asked the DNCRP to form a team comprising the members of drug administration, BSTI and police to conduct the drive on regular basis against the adulterated cosmetics and the dealers.
The commission issued the suo-moto order as it noticed a media report that people are being cheated by purchasing adulterated cosmetics from the market.
In the order NHRC chairman Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed noted that 'consumer right is a human right' which might be undermined by the bad practice of some selfish and unscrupulous traders and lack of proper supervision, the press release said.
