103 seats still vacant after final admission at IU

A total of 103 seats remain vacant at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia following the final admission for the undergraduate programme under 2023-24 academic year of GST cluster admission system, IU academic section informed the matter on Tuesday.

According to the academic section, the total number of seats in 36 departments under 8 faculties for the 2023-24 academic year is 2,370. After the final admission call, 2267 students have completed their admission and 103 seats are still vacant. 25, 45, and 33 seats are vacant in A, B and C units respectively. Meanwhile, no seats are vacant in the university's distinct unit D for Theology and Islamic Studies faculty.

Shahidul Islam, deputy registrar of the academic section of the university, said that 'the vacant seats will be filled according to the decision of the GST cluster committee. However, we have a meeting tomorrow and a decision will be taken on this issue there.'

However, classes for the 2023-24 academic year at IU will start on November 2.
