Army gives new house to quota movement victim in Nangalkot

Bangladesh Army provided new house to Shamim, a victim of anti-discrimination student movement from Nangalkot upazila of Cumilla district.

Brigadier General Faruk Howlader, commander of 44th Infantry Brigade, handed over the new house to the victim Shamim on Sunday.

To mention, Shamim, a pathao bike driver, sustained a bullet during the anti-discrimination student movement. Later, he was admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH). When Bangladesh Army Chief visited the victims at CMH, Shamim requested the Army Chief to repair his house as it was damaged by the flood. At that time, the Army Chief assured him necessary arrangements will be taken to repair his house.

Under the supervision of GOC 33 Infantry Division and Area Commander of Cumilla Area, the 44th Infantry Brigade constructed a house with 3 rooms and a toilet.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Suraiya Akter Lucky, Major Golam Shahadat, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mehedi Hasan, OC AK Fazlul Haque, Lt Colonel Khabir Hossain, Nangalkot Army Camp Commander Captain Soikat, Nangalkot Press Club President Mujibur Rahman Mollah, anti-discrimination student movement representatives were present on the occasion.
