The Tareque Masud Memorial Trust (TMMT), Independent Film Producers Platform of Bangladesh (IFPPB), and Cine Craft jointly organized the most recent session of the Tareque Masud Technical Show, featuring short films by four emerging filmmakers.
The screened films included “Red Apple” by Ahsan Saron, “Joining Letter’ by Nahid Noman, “Window of the Soul” by Yusuf Khan Nur, and “Ongikar” by Ananta Kumar Dash.
The session took place on November 23.
After screening of each film, the invited guests engaged in detailed discussions about various aspects of the films. Which included their appreciation of diversity of themes and innovative storytelling. They also provided constructive feedback on how each film could be further refined. The filmmakers shared their satisfaction at having the opportunity to present their work and receive valuable insights from the audience.
The panel included filmmaker and critic Sadia Khalid Reeti, filmmaker Prasun Rahman, Assistant Professor Mohammad Sajjad Hossain, cinematographer Mohammad Arifuzzaman, filmmaker and editor Sharmin Doza, filmmaker and researcher Sajedul Islam, and sound editor Nahid Masud. Previous renditions of the Tareque Masud Technical Show featured notable short films like A Snail Without a Shell by Momo Rakhain Tamukkhya, Senapati Dighi by Khalek Sadman, and Tiras by Shubhashish Sinha.
The Tareque Masud Technical Show is an open platform where emerging filmmakers can showcase their films and engage in post-screening discussions with the audience and guests, focusing on both aesthetic and technical elements. The organizers firmly believe that this exhibition will help young filmmakers gain confidence in their work and inspire them to sharpen their creative skills.
