Barrister Rumeen Farhana, BNP's assistant international affairs secretary, has urged people to remain united with a view to foiling conspiracies which are being hatched by evil quarters.
The former lawmaker came up with the call while addressing a rally organized by a faction of BNP at Annada Govt High School playground in Brahmanbaria's Sarail upazila on Friday afternoon. Barrister Rumeen Farhana said, "The victory of revolution will culminate to a failure if we ensure an election. If we remain united, the conspirators will not emerge successful."
Mentioning the unspeakable repressions on BNP leaders and activists during the Awami League regime, Rumeen Farhana said, "There was hardly a day police raided my home. I did not sleep in peace even a single night. But we should keep in mind there is an end of repressions."
"Awami League thought they would remain in power forever. But people of the country have given a harsh reply. One can do politics if he or she has support and love from people," she added Barrister Rumeen Farhana said, "We have achieved second liberation through supreme sacrifices of many people. Many mothers have lost their beloved children."
Rumeen Farhana pledged doing development activities if she is elected lawmaker from Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail- Ashuganj) constituency.
Former president of Brahmanbaria district BNP Hafizur Rahman Molla, general secretary Jahirul Haque, joint general secretary ABM Mominul Haque also spoke at the rally, among others, with ex-general secretary of Sarail upazila BNP Anowar Hossain in the chair.
