The new US administration has threatened to place bounties on the heads of Afghanistan's Taliban leaders.

In a post on X, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he is just hearing that Taliban are holding more American hostages than has been reported.

He said if this is true, we will have to immediately place a very big bounty on their top leaders, maybe even bigger than the one we had on Bin Laden.

According to experts, the new US administration is indicating to adopt a tough policy towards the Afghan Taliban.

They said US President Donald Trump has already issued an executive order to stop foreign aid.
