Bangladesh interim government's Chief Adviser's office in a statement on Thursday said that the incident of vandalism at Dhanmondi 32 was unwarranted and undesirable.
'The instigating speech of Sheikh Hasina, hiding in India, against the July uprising created anger among the people and it is an exposure,' said the statement shared by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing on the day.
It said that the interim government was in the highest alert position to protect the country and its people's lives and properties.
It said that the law enforcement agencies were trying their level best to bring the situation under control. A large number of people, including students continued to demolish the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum building at Dhanmondi in Dhaka city till Thursday evening.
A large number of people stormed the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum building at Dhanmondi 32, vandalized it and set the building on fire on Wednesday (5 February 2025).
Later, the agitating protesters also brought a bulldozer and razed the building to the ground.
Later on yesterday the agitators started demolishing the building with an excavator.
