Man found dead next to motorcycle in Banasree


Police say a motorcycle driver has been killed in an accident "involving a truck" in Dhaka's Banasree.

The battered motorcycle was found in pieces on the Banasree-Demra Road at the entrance to Dhaka in the wee hours of Friday. The body of 31-year-old Delwar Hossain Sourav was next to it, bdnews24 reports.

Sourav worked in the private sector, his family says. The incident occurred opposite Block 'A" of Shanta Tower in Banasree around 1am on Friday. Sourav was eventually taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 3:30am. There, the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Sourav was a student in the 39th batch at Southeast University.

Reports came in around midnight that a truck had rammed a motorcycle and knocked it over, according to Ataur Rahman Akondo, chief of Rampura Police Station.

The incident occurred opposite Block 'A" of Shanta Tower in Banasree around 1am on Friday. Sourav was eventually taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 3:30am. There, the doctor on duty declared him dead. Sourav was a student in the 39th batch at Southeast University.
