The cheques of Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust under the ministry of Information and Broadcasting have been distributed among the journalists and their children of 8 districts of Rajshahi division in Press Club in Bogura on Friday afternoon.
Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust and Journalist Union of Bogura jointly organized the programme where the Managing Director of Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust and renowned Journo leader M. Abdullah was present as the chief guest.
The whole programme was presided over the Deputy Commissioner of Bogura and President of the Journalist Welfare Trust, Bogura, Hosna Afroza and conducted by the president of Journalist Union Bogura Gonesh Das and SM Abu Sayed.
Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalist Dr. Sadiqul Islam Shapon, executive member Mirza Selim Reza and Editor of The Daily Karatoa Mozammel Haque Lalu, among others, were present as special guests.
Speaking as the chief guest, M. Abdullah said, "Journalist Welfare Trust does not want to see the journalists in distress." "We want to establish a state on justice where the mass media will work on free and fair environment", he added.
