Sabbir Hossain, CoU Correspondent: The Comilla University (CoU) unit of the student wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), known as Chhatra Dal, organized a sit-in protest wearing black cloths over their mouths, condemning the ongoing brutal genocide by Israel in Gaza and Rafah.

The demonstration was held on Tuesday (April 8) at 12 PM in front of the university’s main gate. During the program, the protesters expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and demanded an immediate end to the Israeli atrocities in Gaza.

Speaking at the protest, CoU Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Mostafiz Rahman Shuvo said, “The genocide committed by Israel in Gaza and Rafah is a heinous attack aimed at exterminating Muslims. No Muslim in the world can accept such cruelty while alive. This genocide is being carried out by the Jewish state of Israel with support from the United States. We, and Muslims around the globe, will never accept this conspiracy to occupy Palestine.”

He added, “We are even ready to sacrifice our lives for Al-Aqsa and Palestine. We urge Israel to stop this genocide immediately and withdraw from Palestinian land.” He also strongly opposed India’s recent anti-Muslim "Waqf Bill" and demanded the Indian Parliament restore the rights of Muslims without delay.

CoU Chhatra Dal Convener Abdullah Al Mamun said, “Through this attack, the Jewish state of Israel aims to occupy Palestine. By committing genocide on our Muslim brothers and sisters, they are implementing a blueprint for land occupation. But the Muslims of the world will never allow this plan to succeed. As a united Muslim nation, we are ready to give our lives, if necessary, to protect our brothers and sisters.”

The student leaders emphasized that they stand for humanity, stand with the oppressed Palestinians, and are always ready to resist barbarism and injustice.
