Voter list updated in Bogura

Over 1 lakh voters have been increased, and around 44 thousand voters have been decreased in Bogura from the countrywide update of voter list activities and the increased number of voters will be added and decreased number of voters will be declined from the past existing total 28,97,212 voters in 12 upazilas of Bogura district.

District Senior Election Officer's office source said that the update activities of voter list began on January 20, 2025 till April 11, 2025 in 12 upazilas of Bogura district. With the help of total 1193 information collectors, around 98, 777 voters have filled up forms of updated voter list.
So far, 1,02,184 new fresh voters have been increased and 44,603 voters have been declined due to death and transformation of vote areas under 12 upazilas of Bogura district, added the source.

District Senior Election Officer's office source said up to the last day of the voter list update activities in Bogura district by March 24, 2025, 19,990 persons increased and 7,592 persons declined in sadar upazila, 13,196 persons increased and 5,842 persons declined in Shibgonj upazila, 9,395 persons increased and 4,669perons declined in Shariakandi upazila, 7,385 persons increased and 3,482 persons declined in Sonatola upazila, 5,616 persons increased and 3,542 persons declined in Adamdighi upazila, 5,612 persons increased and 2,156 persons declined in Dupchanchia upazila,  2,896 persons increased and 2,158 persons declined in Sonatola upazila, 662 persons increased and 356 persons declined in Nandigram upazila, 11,132 persons increased and 3,825 persons declined in Sherpur upazila, 3,948 persons increased and 2,088 persons declined in Dhunat upazila, 12,630 persons increased and 5,112 persons declined in Gabtoli upazila and 9,722 persons increased and 3,781 persons declined in Shajahanpur upazila in Bogura district. 

District Senior Election Officer's office source also added that 1,193 information/data collectors have conducted their information collections from door to door they had been supervised by 266 supervisors in 12 upazilas of Bogura and 4 data collectors conducted their information collections under a supervisor from 15 days from January 20, 2025 to February 03, 2025. Later, Biometric signs have been taken in the voter registration centres from February 05, 2025 to April 11, 2025 and the fresh adolescence whose date of birth before January 01, 2008 and those who could not add their name in the previous voter list, were added in the updated voter list this year.Contrary, those who died after the update of the last voter list and transformed from one location to another place of Bangladesh were declined in the final updated voter in the country, added the source.

Syed Abu Sayed, Additional District Senior Election Officer, Bogura said that district election office appointed data collectors and supervisors have rendered their utmost services to make an updated and faultless voter list and people of all ages contributed a lot to the activities too.
