Druggie gets six-months jail in Sarail

A man has been sentenced to six months in jail and fined Tk 100 by a mobile court in Brahmanbaria's Sarail upazila.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md Mosharraf Hossain led the mobile court and jailed Md Akter (35), son of Md. Abu Kalam, a resident of Sawdagarpara area under Shahbazpur union of the upazila on Thursday while the convicted was behaving indecently in an intoxicated state. Upazila administration sources said, acting on a tip-off, UNO Md Mosharraf Hossain conducted the operation and gave punishment to the drug abuser under the Narcotics Control Act.
