Meghna Alam claims Saudi Ambassador to be her spouse

Model Meghna Alam said in the court on Thursday (17 April 2025) that the Saudi Arabian Ambassador is her spouse. Meghna Alam raised this claim while a hearing was going on about a fraudulence case lodged with the capital's Dhanmondi Police Station.

Meghna Alam was produced before the court yesterday. The investigating officer applied to the court to show Meghna Alam arrested on charges of snaring foreign diplomats in honey traps with pretty girls.

Public Prosecutor Omar Faruq represented the state during the hearing. According to Omar Faruq, Meghna Alam launched a vicious syndicate for trapping foreign ambassadors and higher officials of different foreign diplomatic missions in Dhaka for blackmailing them in collaboration with beautiful girls and thus prying off huge sums of money from the victims. Allegedly Meghna Alam has been running this deceptive business for a long time. Of late Meghna Alam trapped Saudi Arabian Ambassador Issa Bin Youssef Al-Duhailan and demanded five million dollars from him; the investigating officer informed the court.

Meghna Alam said to the court that she hired no lawyers to advocate for her over these allegations. She sought permission from the court to speak for herself. As the court allowed Meghna Alam to speak, she said that she was sent to jail injudiciously. She complained that she was told by certain officials that she would have access to no lawyers. Meghna Alam further said that she got married to Saudi Arabian Ambassador Issa Bin Youssef Al-Duhailan. She stated that Issa Bin Youssef Al Duhailan blamed her for abortion. It's a false complaint, Meghna Alam said at the court. Meghna Alam added that she talked to the Saudi Arabian Ambassador about these issues and also informed Foreign Ministry's Director General Shafiqur Rahman about these matters. Soon afterwards she was arrested by police force, Meghna Alam said while describing her plight before the court.

Model Meghna Alam was arrested on 9 April 2025 in connection with the allegations furnished above and she was later on sent to jail.
