NCP leaders have packed hands with Awami League: Kaykobad

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Vice Chairman Shah Md. Kaykobad has blamed the leaders of newly launched National Citizens Party (NCP) for packing hands with ousted fascist regime Awami League. Shah Md. Kaykobad said "I will leave my own space for new parties who want free and fair elections. But NCP leaders have tied up with Awami League. Students are crowns on our heads but some culprits using the names of students want to defile our society". Shah Md. Kaykobad made the above remarks on Saturday (19 April 2025) while addressing a rally organized by local BNP leaders and activists at Muradnagar under Cumilla district. The rally took place on the playground of Hyderabad Shamsul Haque College.

Shah Md. Kaykobad said "I would like to say to Dr. Muhammad Yunus that we are proud of you. You are a piece of our hearts. You are sincerely requested to make sure that students' academic life is not spoiled for the sake of politics. We all pray for your good health and a beautiful election in Bangladesh."

Shah Md. Kaykobad blamed former Awami League Member of Parliament (MP) Yusuf Abdullah Harun and his gangsters for attempting to burn him in a brickfield. Some NCP leaders have entered alliance with Yusuf Abdullah Harun, Shah Md. Kaykobad complained. "Nobody can harm me if Allah Almighty's mercy is upon me" Shah Md. Kaykobad asserted.

Shah Md. Kaykobad stated "I have been your servant since 1986. I regard myself as a servant to the people of my locality, not as a leader. I am profoundly grateful to you for electing me to parliament five times. I can never pay back your debt. Let's all pray for the martyrs of 1971 and 2024 because it's because of their supreme sacrifices that today we are being able to speak freely."

Local BNP leaders Mostaq Miah, Akhteruzzaman, Toufique Ahmed Mir, Mohiuddin Anjan and another few politicians spoke on the occasion.
