BUFT organizes leather craft exhibition


The Department of Fashion Studies at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organized the Leather Craft Exhibition 2025 on May 15, 2025, at the university campus, according to a press release received on Thursday. The exhibition was arranged following the successful completion of a workshop on leather product design and craftsmanship, which was held from November 14, 2024, to February 20, 2025, with the participation of 65 students. Distinguished guests at the exhibition included Professor Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Treasurer of BUFT; Uttam Kumar Roy, Associate Professor at the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka; and Mohammad Imtiaj, Director of Public Relations at BUFT, along with faculty members and students.

It may be added that the workshop was coordinated and conducted by Fahima Akhter, Lecturer of the Department of Fashion Studies, in alliance with experts from the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka. Under their direct supervision, students received hands-on training in creating various leather products. This exhibition highlights BUFT's commitment to practical and industry-oriented education. It also serves as a unique platform for future designers, promoting innovation and creativity in Bangladesh's growing leather industry, the press release concludes.
