The Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has said that the next few days are going to be highly crucial for Bangladesh. The coming three or four days will unfold which way the country is proceeding, Shafiqul Alam further said. However, Shafiqul Alam assured that elections would not be deferred under any circumstances.
Shafiqul Alam made these comments on Thursday while answering questions from journalists in the Secretariat. Principal Information Officer Md. Nizamul Kabir, Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) President Masudul Haque and BSRF General Secretary Obaidullah Badal were present at the press briefing.
Shafiqul Alam said that the July Charter and the July Declaration are being formulated keeping in view the one year completion of the July Revolution on 5 August 2025. Shafiqul Alam affirmed that Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus would keep his commitment on elections and he urged everyone not to worry about it.
All Advisers are working in full unison with the Chief Adviser, Shafiqul Alam told journalists yesterday. All Advisers want to go back to their original professions, Shafiqul Alam added.
Shafiqul Alam expressed hope that elections will be held in a free, fair, smooth and festive way. The interim government will be making the best of its efforts to avoid all sorts of violence during elections, Shafiqul Alam stated.
