4 lakh Burmese Yaba pills seized in Cox's Bazar

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB-34) has recovered 400,000 pieces of Burmese Yaba pills in an operation in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar district on Monday, though no arrests were made.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB-34 officials led by battalion commander conducted a drive early Monday near the West Dargah Bil Cemetery and recovered 4 lakh pieces of Yaba pills from the spot.

Cox's Bazar BGB-34 battalion commander Lt Col Alam confirmed the incident and said that such operations will continue.  Over the past six months, BGB have recovered drugs and smuggled items worth more than Tk 50.79 crore, and 95 suspects have been arrested during the period.
