'Nature Fest 2025' held at Jahangirnagar University

The Nature Conservation Initiative (NCI), a student-led organisation at Jahangirnagar University (JU), hosted "Nature Fest 2025" on campus Saturday.
The day-long event, held at the university's Zahir Raihan Auditorium, brought together an estimated 500 students from various schools, colleges, and universities, according to organisers. The festival was organised in collaboration with Envolead and GRM Consulting Services Limited.

JU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, inaugurated the festival as chief guest. Other university officials, including Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Sohel Ahmed, NCI Chief Adviser Prof Md Monwar Hossain, and NCI Adviser Prof Md Jamal Uddin, also attended. Representatives from the partner organisations and the NCI student leadership were present.

The day's schedule began with a tree plantation ceremony and included a children's drawing competition, a photo exhibition, and a project exhibition where students presented environmental initiatives. In the afternoon, participants took part in poster presentations, a quiz competition on environmental topics, and a campus-wide treasure hunt. The festival concluded with a prize distribution ceremony for the competition winners. Organisers stated the event's goal was to promote environmental awareness and responsibility among the younger generation.
