It is with deep sadness that Dr. Engr. Md Manjurul Haque, the former Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), has passed away yesterday (December 2, 2025), at around 1:00 PM while receiving treatment at a hospital in Dhaka (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun). He was 67 years old at the time of his demise.
Born on September 1, 1958, in Nilphamari, Dr. Md Manjurul Haque joined the BAEC in 1981. Throughout his long career, he made significant contributions to the research and development of nuclear science.
He led the commission with honesty, skill, and dedication. His funeral prayer (Namaz-e-janaza) was held today after Maghrib prayers at the BAEC headquarters.
He leaves behind his wife, a son, a daughter, and many well-wishers. The officers and staff of the BAEC pray for his departed soul and extend their deepest sympathies to his grieving family.
