RU admission tests for 2025-26 begins today

Rajshahi University (RU) admission tests for first-year undergraduate (Honours) and degree programmes for the 2025-26 academic session beings today. The examination will continue till January 24. The examinations will be conducted under three units-C, A and B. The C Unit test will be held on January 16, followed by the A Unit on January 17 and the B Unit on January 24. The information was disclosed at a press conference organised by the university's Public Relations Office on Thursday.

According to the briefing, the C and A Unit examinations will be held in two shifts-from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon and from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The B Unit test will take place in a single shift from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. A total of 4,017 seats are available this year, while 272,626 candidates are set to appear in the tests. Of them, 115,515 will sit for the A Unit, 30,886 for the B Unit, and 126,225 for the C Unit.

To ease the participation of applicants and guardians, the university will conduct the examinations not only in Rajshahi but also at five regional centres-Dhaka,Chattogram, Khulna, Rangpur and Barishal.

At the Rajshahi centre, 68,490 candidates will take part. The Dhaka and Jagannath University centres will accommodate 119,019 examinees, Chattogram University 17,646, Khulna region 23,909, Begum Rokeya University and two adjacent venues 38,257, and Barishal University 5,305 candidates. Each test will be of one-hour duration and conducted in MCQ format. Candidates must enter their respective examination halls at least 30 minutes before the start of the test, and no one will be allowed to leave the hall during the examination.

University authorities said all necessary preparations have been completed to ensure the examinations are held smoothly and in an orderly manner. 

The admission committee, proctorial body, ICT Centre, Student Affairs Office, transport and hall administrations, along with local authorities and law enforcement agencies, are working in coordination.
