Two Bangladeshi films compete at DIFF

Two Bangladeshi films  compete at DIFF Aparna Ghosh has played the eponymous role in the film 'Sutopar Thikana'
Two Bangladeshi films are participating in Delhi International Film Festival (DIFF) 2015. 'Sutopar Thikana' alternatively called 'Her Own Address', directed by independent filmmaker Proshoon Rahman and 'Gaariwala' (The Cart), directed by Ashraf Shishir are participating in the competition section of the festival.
'Sutopar Thikana' is a screen adaptation of a book titled 'Ishworer Ichche Nei Boley', written by the director Proshoon Rahman himself. Actress Aparna Ghosh has played the eponymous role in the film depicting the four different stages of Sutopa, a typical South Asian woman, as an adolescent girl, as a married woman, as a widow and as an old lady.
On the other hand, Gaariwala is the story of unbeatable dream of two young brothers and their incredible journey through life. The film has already been showed at almost 40 international film festivals across the globe and has garnered much praise and several awards.
Besides these two feature films, several other Bangladeshi short and documentary films are also being showed at the festival.
The fourth edition of Delhi International Film Festival opened on December 5 and was inaugurated by Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez. This year's festival will feature 210 films from 68 countries and will run till December 10.
