Much waited movie "Bhuban Majhi" starring Aparna Ghosh of Bangladesh and Parambrata Chatterjee of India's Kolkata hit 15 cinema halls across the country yesterday, including Star Cineplex, Shyamoli and Madhumita Cinema Hall in the capital. The film is directed by independent filmmaker Fakhrul Arefeen Khan.

Even before release the movie has created an immense buzz among film critics and filmgoers. The premiere show of the film was held on March 1 evening in the capital's Star Cineplex.

Starring Bangladesh's Aparna Ghosh and Indian actor Parambrata Chatterjee in the lead roles, the story of the film revolves around a spiritual man living in Kushtia, named Baul Nohor Majhi. A journalist travels to Kushtia for making a documentary on Bauls (mystics) and discovers a different truth. While being a Baul, Nohor Majhi was also a freedom fighter who fought heroically for the country in the Liberation War of 1971, after getting inspired by a young girl named Farida. In the film, Parambrata plays the role of Baul Nohor Majhi while Aparna acts as Farida.

The other notable casts of the film include Mamunur Rashid, Sushuma Sarker, Nowshaba, Maznun Mizan, and singer Waqeel. The film, based on the life of a true freedom fighter, depicts a number of historical incidents like the horror night's scenes of March 25, the East Pakistan Rifles (EPR) rebellion in 1971 and many more.
