Biman starts Boeing flights to Cox’s Bazar

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced Boeing flight schedules for the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina landed in Cox’s Bazar on May 6 via a Boeing aircraft as part of the inauguration of tarmac for bigger aircraft.

Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be used on this route, said Sharmin Sultana, public relations officer of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

“The aircrafts will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays for ease of travelers,” she said on Wednesday.

During summer, Boeing aircraft BG-433 will leave Dhaka for Cox’s Bazar at 4:15pm on Thursdays and Saturdays from May 18 onwards.

BG-434 will return to Dhaka from Cox’s Bazar on the same days at 5:45pm.

Biman’s Public Relations Director General Shakil Meraj said: “The schedule is very convenient for those who want to spend the weekends in Cox’s Bazar.”

“This boosts government’s plans for Cox’s Bazar to flourish as a top tourism destination.”

With tax, one way fare on this route has been set at Tk 4,000 for economy class and Tk 9,000 for business class.

Flight schedule of aircraft Dash 8-W 400 will remain the same on rest of the five days of the week, said Sharmin.
