ASP murder case in limbo

Motive of the murder still in dark

ASP murder case in limbo

None of the murderers has been identified even after the three weeks of  the murder of Highway Police (Savar zone) Assistant Superintendent Mizanur Rahman Talukdar. The motive of the murder is still in dark while the investigators are still hinting unknown snatchers. However, there is not enough evidence to support their claim, which drives them to consider other reasons for the killing.

Additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Detective Brach Golam Mostafa Russell said: "Police are cordially investigating the case.  The investigation so  far hints the snatchers and we are collecting more information." The case would see light soon, he hoped. The body of a senior highway police official was found dumped near Birulia Bridge on the bank of the Turag River near Rupnagar in Savar on June 21.

His neck was twisted tightly by rope and wound marks were on the face-which led police primarily to label it as "possibly murdered by snatchers".  "The attack of mugger is based on a hypothesis as other reasons had no supporting evidences at  all," DB sources said adding: "The snatching approach fits best according to the aspect."

DB checked the CCTV footages on roads later. But there was no clue as the cop left his residence at dawn. The poor light provided no clear images to the cameras. The official left his Uttara residence to Savar at dawn. Investi-gators suspect he mistakenly took lift from muggers' vehicle. The muggers might have be exposed and they killed the officer to evade arrest.
