6 Masks you can make with cucumber

Cucumber can be considered a 'super' vegetable with amazing skin and health benefits. Summer is coming up and many of us are on the path to clear skin, so incorporating cucumber into your weekly skin routine is possibly one of the best things you can do for your skin.

Cucumber by itself has high water content, packed with vitamins B, A and K which can help with moisturizing and balancing skin. Here are six masks you can make with a single cucumber:

1) Cucumber and Baking Soda

If you have acne prone skin, this mask is perfect for you. Adding one tablespoon of baking soda to a blended mixture of raw cucumber, a teaspoon of honey or your choice of oil and one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar can help cleanse and refresh your skin without being too drying.

2) Cucumber and Coconut

If you have issues with an uneven skin tone this mask can help solve that problem. By blending together a ¼ cup of coconut milk and ¼ cup of coconut water with about 10 slices of cucumber, you can help to achieve an even skin tone and glowing skin.

3) Cucumber and Sorrel

Believe it or not sorrel has been proven to help reduce redness, signs of ageing and tighten the skin. Blending a 1-4 cup of sorrel with 12 slices of cucumber can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles and moisturize the skin.

4) Cucumber and Honey

Dry skin in the summer is a very common issue and this mask can help remedy the situation. Blending together 2 tablespoons of raw honey and 6 slices of cucumber can help combat dryness and leave skin with a healthy glow.

5) Cucumber and Otaheite Apple

This mask is an alternative to combat dry skin. Both cucumber and otaheite apple (Jamaican apple) have a high water content. By blending together 6 slices of cucumber and one small otaheite apple, you can make a cooling and moisturizing face mask.

6) Cucumber and Egg White

Oily skin can be problematic but this mask will help balance oily skin. Blending 1 egg (with the yolk removed), mint leaves(optional), 1 teaspoon of lemon and 10 slices of cucumber can help to combat oily skin in the summer heat.
