Fortune Magazine places bKash on 23rd position

Fortune magazine has ranked Bangladesh's largest mobile finance provider bKash 23rd on its 'Change the World' list of companies which have had a positive social impact. The respected American business magazine's ranking was based on three factors: social impact, business results and degree of innovation.

The magazine noted that 22 percent of Bangladeshis used the service to make payments and transfer money over the phone and that the system was used for over 4.5 million transactions a day.

"We are excited to be named in Fortune's Change the World list, which is the result of collaborations and supports by all our stakeholders to drive a common goal of creating financial access for Bangladesh's common people," bKash CEO Kamal Quadir said.

"This recognition would not come without our employees' relentless hard work, our customers' trust and confidence in our services, and above all our regulator's policy design allowing us to serve the mass through a regulated financial system," Quadir said.

"We would also like to cherish this accolade as Bangladesh's footprint among the world bests.JPMorgan Chase topped Fortune's list, with Apple coming in at number 3, Toyota at 8, Nestle at 14, Unilever at 21, Microsoft at 25 and Dell at 45.
