Bangladesh has achieved the response capability to mitigate the targeted cyber attacks.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation-Computer Emergency Response Teams (OIC-CERT) conducted a drill on Tuesday to attain the response capability of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT), said a press release on Wednesday.
Bangladesh's cyber-security platform BGD e-GOV CIRT is among the government CIRT of 11 countries which also achieved response capability of CSIRT to alleviate the cyber attacks, according to drill result published in the OIC-CERT website.
The countries include India, Brunei, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Tunisia.
The BGD e-GOV CIRT was developed by Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under ICT Division to deal with the cyber security related issues.
The OIC-CERT held its first cyber drill with the theme 'Encountering Cyber Terrorism and Human Trafficking' for cyber security platforms of the governments of 22 countries to assess the response capabilities of CSIRT from respective OIC-CERT teams in mitigating the targeted cyber-attacks'.
