A two-day 'ACM-International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC)-2017' concluded on the city campus of University of Asia Pacific (UAP) recently. UAP Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department organized the final round of the contest titled '2017 ACM-ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest', said a press release.
In the final round of the competition, BUET Dracarys bagged the champions trophy while BUET NeverMind, SUST_TeamX became first and second runners-up respectively. State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak addressed the closing ceremony as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.
UAP VC and Asia Regional Contest Director, Dhaka Prof Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury presided over the function. It was addressed, among others, by Engineer Mohammad Enamul Kabir and UAP Board of Trustees Chairman Qayum Reza Chowdhury.
Two or three teams, securing top positions in the contest, are likely to take part in the world finals to be held in Beijing hosted by Peking University from April 15 to 20 in 2018. Earlier, UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan inaugurated the contest on November 10.
