The High Court has ordered Dhaka’s Lakehead Grammar School to be reopened within 24 hours after Dhaka authorities closed it over allegations of harbouring militancy and inspiring extremism.
The two-member bench of Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice Md Ataur Rahman Khan issued the rule based on a petition to the court.
“The court said Lakehead Grammar School should be reopened within 24 hours,” said petitioners’ lawyer Rashna Imam after the hearing.
“The school administration has been ordered to cooperate fully with the government if they decide to investigate allegations of militant activity.”
