DWASA, Vitens Evides International sign pact

Dhaka WASA (DWASA) signed a contract on 'Water Operators Partnership-2 (WOP-2)' with Netherlands' Vitens Evides International on Wednesday at a city hotel. In a bid to build capacity of DWASA's recently introduced District Meter Area (DMA) technology for pressurized water supply, automatic deep tube-well operation with SCADA system and management of non-revenue water or system loss for next four years in DMA covered zones of Dhaka WASA.

Dhaka WASA Managing Director Taqsem A Khan and Asia Manager of Vitens Evides Folkert de Jager signed the contract on behalf of their respective organizations. Local Government Division (LGD) Secretary Abdul Malek was present as chief guest while Netherland Ambassador in Dhaka LM Cuelenaere and LGD Ministry's Additional Secretary Nasrin Akhter were present as special guests.
