Kanjush: First play to be staged 700 times

Theatre troupe Loko Natyadal's much-acclaimed production "Kanjush" has made history as the most-staged theatre production in the country. This production will be staged for the 700th time, making this the first stage drama to attain this feat.

Directed by Liaquat Ali Lucky, "Kanjush" is a Bangladeshi makeover of French masterpiece "L'Avare" ("The Miser"). The troupe will be staging their drama on December 15 at 6pm at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilapakala Academy. The Miser, by renowned French playwright Molière, tells the tale of the bourgeois Miser and his love for wealth, which often exceeds his affection for his children.
