2 Bangladeshi peacekeepers killed -The Asian Age

At least two Bangla-deshis part of United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission in Central African Republic were killed and two others were injured in a road crash on Saturday evening.

The deceased were identified as soldier Arjan Hawlader, 34, of E-Bengal in Faridpur and Moha-mmad Ripul Mia, 35, of Division Locating Battalion Artillery in Rangpur while the injured were identified as soldier Md Jamal Uddin Molla, 34, of E-Bengal in Faridpur and soldier Md Majahidul Islam, 36, of AD Regiment Artillery in Naogaon.

All of them were the members of the Bangladesh Battalion-4 (Banabat-4), engaged in UN peacekeeping missions, reports UNB. The accident took place as a heavy timber carrying conveyor lost control on the way in Yaloke area, leaving two dead on the spot and two others injured.

The injured were shifted to Bangui capital city for better treatment. Other peacekeepers in Central African Republic are safe.Bangladesh Battalion has been engaged in UN peacekeeping program since October 2014.
